I grew up in a cabin in the mountains outside Republic, Washington — no running water, no electricity, no indoor plumbing. My dad built it with a chainsaw, a hatchet, and a hammer. We hauled water in jugs, heated with a wood stove, and used an outhouse. That life taught me grit no business school ever could.
Today I'm a Williston, North Dakota entrepreneur, husband, and father of six. I flew out here in December 2010 with nothing but a work ethic and a willingness to do what nobody else wanted to do. I built my career from derrick hand to business owner in the oil and gas industry, expanded into real estate, and I'm not done yet.
